An interesting means of disguising urban eyesores.

The 4th annual Vilnius Street Art Festival in Lithuania bought about the brilliant Vilnius Waterfall project which transformed an old concrete eyesore of a building dating from the Soviet era into a façade of waterfalls.

The installation was a collaborative project between Ignas Lukauskas who had previously written a PhD thesis on urban landscapes and how art and architecture can create disruptions and Vieta which is an interesting commercial blend of gallery, agency, artist studio and consulting firm. Vieta specialises in creative placements and innovative art projects for any occasion and particularly to engage communities and their city.

This blogger can think of many urban eyesores which could do with the waterfall treatment or something of a similar disruptive nature.
