Claesson Koivisto Rune has designed a new lounge sofa collection called Bonsai which was inspired by Japanese culture.
The collection was recently launched by the manufacturer Arflex and is characterised by the soft shapes and curves reminiscent of bushes and plants found in Japan.
The softness of the cushions is in contrast to the linear wooden surface and leaves an open area at one end. The design was also inspired by the Japanese concept of Tokonoma.
Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership, founded in Stockholm in 1995 by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune.
