Every year during July at the Square Praça 1º de Maio by the river in the city of Águeda in Portugal there is a burst of colour and joie de vivre with the Umbrella Sky Project which is part of the Ágitagueda Art Festival.
Hundreds of brightly coloured umbrellas, each one a burst of shady relief, seem to float on high without any visible means of support and provide shade from the sun.
The group responsible for providing the umbrella display is known as Sextafeira Producoesis and each year the team organises a new umbrella display with a new coordination of colours.
