Bonsai is the art of growing and sustaining ornamental, artificially dwarfed varieties of trees and shrubs in pots. The Japanese practice of Bonsai dates back over a thousand years and similar horticultural art forms exist in other cultures, including the Chinese tradition of penjing and the miniature landscapes of Vietnamese hòn non bộ.
