Quirky new Christchurch building

This is a three storey, plus mezzanine floor, building located adjacent to the corner of Papanui Road and Office Road in Christchurch. Hooray for quirky and innovative architectural design by multi award winning architect, Thom Craig.

Recently completed on the former site of the Merivale public toilets and presently unoccupied (hopefully not for long). The building occupies most of the minimal 27 sq.m. site with a footprint of approx 18 sq.m. and comprises a total of 62 sq.m. of usable floor area.

The building is described as being suitable for a commercial tenant to live and work on site.

It is to be hoped that Christchurch sees many more examples of outside the box thinking from architects and developers.
