LINCTHELENDESIGN whose principal is Linc Thelen together with Scrafano Architects of Chicago collaborated to transform a turn of the century long abandoned church in Chicago’s Little Italy precinct into a stunning contemporary home for a family of five.
The conversion preserved the building’s outstanding features, including stained glass windows and a five story bell tower. Living space was re-configured and added to, creating open-plan areas and other areas which afford customary living spaces.
The buildings massive roof timbers and steel were exposed and the bell tower was converted into a glass floored observation deck.
