There is art in recycled clothing

Guerra de la Paz is the working name of a creative duo of Cuban born artists, Alain Guerra (Born 1968 Havana, Cuba) and Neraldo de la Paz (Born 1955 Matanzas, Cuba), currently based in Miami, Florida and they have been working collaboratively since 1996.

The duo created a series of sculptural art works out of discarded, recycled clothing, many of which have been found in second hand stores in Little Haiti, Miami. The statement Guerro de la Paz convey with their recycled clothing art is directed at the consume-and-discard nature of our mass produced lifestyles.

Their work has been exhibited internationally in many art institutions including the Aichi Triennale, Okazaki, Japan, Augeo Art Space, Rimini, Italy, Biennale Internationale du lin de Portneuf, Quebec, Canada, Kurumaya Museum, Oyama, Japan and in at the Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Poland.
