The recently opened W Punta de Mita Resort is part of the international chain of W Hotels & Resorts and which is part of Marriott International. This new Resort is located on the Riviera Nayarit on Mexico’s continental Pacific coast in the state of Nayarit.

The design concept reflects the local surfing culture and implements local cultural motifs, vibrant textiles and patterns and traditional Huichol statues.

The resort comprises a selection of one hundred and nineteen guest villas and suites all featuring private balconies or patios, artisanal Mexican tiled floors and headboards fashioned from either surfboards or punctured tin by local artists. Four massive and beautifully designed graffiti installations by street artist Nacho Bernal are placed throughout the property. The property also reflects the historical, social and spiritual context of the hotel’s location and the traditional patterns of the Huichol people.

A standout feature of the hotel is the unique Camino Huichol walkway finished with in excess of 750,000 intricate bright green and blue mosaic glass tiles and extending one hundred and fourty meters.

Mister Important Design is a concept and interior design company based in Oakland, California and was responsible for the Resort’s interior design.
