An impressive penthouse located within a historic operating clock tower and delivering 360 degrees of views of New York including the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge and the One World Trade Center, is on the market for US$35 million (ongoing monthly property costs are US$9,000).

Situated at 240 Centre Street in Little Italy on Manhattan island, the old NYPD headquarters was converted into a living space in 1988. The 5,500 sq ft apartment, covers six levels and includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms and two kitchens and a recently discovered secret room concealed behind a clock which is referred to as the dome sanctuary.

The penthouse is described by the real estate agent as “intimate ambience on a grand scale.” The building was constructed in 1909 and previous owners of the apartment have included Steffi Graf and fashion designer Calvin Klein.
