These buildings are examples of what can be achieved with adventurous architecture and the co-operation of determined property owners. Even minimal decoration and use of facades are as sure as hell preferable to bland, soulless tilt-slab construction. In a cities such as Christchurch in New Zealand which has undergone and continues to undergo huge reconstruction as a consequence of massive 2010 and 2011 earthquakes, there are examples of skillful architecture but unfortunately there are way too many which are simply featureless and tasteless. Opportunity has been squandered and citizens of the future will be excused for asking themselves, what were they thinking?
